Let’s rewind to 2020—a year that tested hearts, homes, and hope. For us, it was a season of deep loss. We moved to Kansas City with our two rescue pups, Starbuck and Branches, ready to start fresh near our new grandbaby. But within weeks, Starbuck couldn’t walk. We lost her suddenly. Then came the loss of my dad. Then my job. Our house was quiet, heavy, and hurting.

But if you’ve ever loved a dog, you know: they don’t let you stay down for long.

Branches needed a friend or friends. We rescued Sierra, a parvo survivor with a spark in her eyes. Then came Delila, a mystery mutt with a heart of gold. And just like that—joy returned. Our pack grew. Our hearts healed. And Mixed Mutt & Company was born.
